Annual Insurance Could Be Less of a Headache
Friday April 15, 2011
Finding travel insurance is an essential task no matter how old you are or what kind of holiday you are taking. But when you are over 65 it is even more important to book the right kind of insurance so you know you have the coverage you need.
One thing you need to think about though is the length of time you want to have your insurance for. It is tempting to opt for a single trip insurance policy if you don’t think you will go on holiday for a while again. But consider your needs and situation carefully before you do this. Not only will you have to book another policy if you do change your mind and go somewhere else, you will also have to go through the whole process of booking it again in the first place.
This can be arduous at the best of times, but when you are over 65 you will be limited as to the number of policies that are around that are suitable for you. It may be simpler and easier to get an annual policy now that will cover you for all future trips during the next twelve months as well.
You should remember too that such a policy will cover weekends away as well as longer holidays. Lots of people make last minute decisions to nip away for the weekend, and even if you only have the idea of going to France for a day or two you will still be glad of having the insurance. It gives you the peace of mind you need, and you don’t have to search around for a new policy since you already have one.
So if you are currently in a situation where you need to book travel insurance of some kind, it might be worth thinking about whether an annual policy might be better. As you can imagine it can save you a lot of headaches further down the line if you do decide to take more than one trip away this year for some reason.
