Are You Tempted To Travel Without Insurance?

It is understandably frustrating to go out looking for travel insurance for the over 65s only to find it incredibly hard to come up with a reasonable quote. But even if you search online for a while and you don’t come up with anything suitable, don’t give up.

The truth is that this age group is more likely to make a claim on their insurance while they are away. Even if you are fit and healthy when you go there is always that chance something could happen you’re not expecting.

It is tempting to forego the insurance if you are having trouble finding something suitable. But the best bet is often to take a break from looking. Give yourself a breather, go and do something else and then return to your search at a later point in time. Obviously you won’t want to leave it too late to book the insurance you need, but it won’t hurt to give yourself a day away from trying to find the best policy.

Remember too that even if you come across companies who don’t cater for this age group at all, it doesn’t mean that everyone will be like this. Try looking for reviews and search results that might lead you to travel insurance policies for the over 65s. This could turn up something worthwhile if you look through all the results carefully enough.

In addition to this you can also look at insurance companies you’ve gone with before. Would one of these be a good bet to try for travel insurance once again? You never know unless you try them.

Very often it can also help to speak to an advisor on the phone instead of looking for a policy online. The online policies are often only available for straightforward applicants of a certain age who are fit and healthy and don’t have any health issues. If you’re not in that bracket you will very likely be asked to call them anyway, so you might find it easier to do that right from the word go.

The main thing to remember though is not to panic if you don’t find the ideal policy straightaway. You’ll find something sooner or later so don’t give up – and don’t be tempted to skip the policy altogether. Hopefully you won’t need it but you will always need the security it offers.
