Persevere When Looking For Multi Trip Insurance

Friday July 16, 2010

If you are over sixty five you may already be aware that finding the right travel insurance can suddenly get rather difficult when you get to this age. However difficult is a long way from being impossible and you need to be sure you persevere when you are looking for the right insurance policy for your needs.

This is especially true if you are looking for multi trip insurance. You see, some insurers decide they will no longer make multi trip policies available to those who have reached the age of sixty five. There doesn’t seem to be much of a reason for this, other than the fact that they feel insuring older people is more likely to garner more claims.

While this may be true it is not fair that insurance companies should decide to ignore a significant part of the travelling population altogether. And needless to say, if you travel several times a year it can be very expensive to get a single policy every time you go abroad. A multi trip policy always works out cheaper if you go abroad on several occasions on an annual basis.

So what should you do if you are having trouble finding a multi trip policy that will suit your needs?

The first thing to do is not to give up. Try searching on Google for your needs. Try typing in something like ‘multi trip policy for over 65s’ and see where that gets you. There are companies out there who will supply you with the policy you want – you just have to go out and look for them. Once you have found them you must hang onto them, because you may well want to use them again in future.

Despite the uphill battle you might have when looking for this kind of policy, it is worth searching until you find two or three possible companies to book your insurance with. You can then get estimates from all of them and make sure you go with the cheapest insurer.

In the end you are still in control of the company you go with. You may not have the same range of choice as you did a few years ago, but you shouldn’t settle for second best. Do your price comparisons, check out the various possibilities when it comes to getting a suitable policy and take it from there.
